Rabid is now Ackama
In September 2018, on the company’s 8th birthday, Rabid became Ackama - this was to reflect that fact that we work on large digital ecosystems, and given that nature is the largest ecosystem in the world we wanted a name that came from nature. Ackama, or Makamaka, is a small bushy tree with white flowers and red seeds. It’s found on the coast from Whangarei north.

Louise joined Rabid in March 2018 after graduating from the Enspiral Dev Academy. In her previous career Louise created visual concepts and ideas for the design industry. Louise now looks forward to contibuting to an industry helping solve interesting and challenging problems.
When not coding, reading or thinking about code Louise likes the physical work of toiling in a garden and exploring Wellington’s numerous walkways. She loves catching up with family and friends, making unusual objects and writing short stories set sometime in the future.
